$65.00
Only 2 available

Overview

  • Saturday, 1/10, 10am-12pm

  • Ages 16 and up are welcome

  • Cost: $60 + $5 materials (all materials are included)

  • Beginners and returners welcome!

Spend your Saturday morning getting a little muddy and a lot creative in this beginner-friendly ceramics workshop. In this cozy, small-group class (max 8 people), you’ll handbuild a tall ceramic mug—perfect for coffee, tea, or whatever gets you going.

We’ll guide you through building your mug from clay slabs, attaching a handle, and adding texture or decorative flair. No experience? No problem. Whether you’re rolling solo, on a date, or just looking for something fun to do with a friend, this laid-back workshop is a great way to unplug and create something functional and beautiful.

All mugs will be glazed and kiln-fired by the instructor and ready for pickup a few weeks later. All tools and materials included.

About the Instructor

Desirae Holsinger is a multidisciplinary artist with a BFA in Studio Art (2019), concentrating in Ceramics and minoring in Art Education. While she has explored polymer clay and stained glass, her current focus is primarily on ceramics, where she blends function with whimsy, grit, and storytelling. Desirae is the artist behind Stray Cat Studios, a brand known for its darkly playful, small-batch creations. Outside the studio, she brings her teaching skills to life by training coworkers on equipment and digital systems in a warehouse setting. She’s passionate about making art approachable, joyful, and just the right amount of strange.

Class Cancellations and Absence

Refunds minus a 10% or $20 processing fee (whichever is lower) are offered until 14 days before the start of class. After that, we do not offer refunds. We don’t offer refunds for missed classes, so please be sure you can attend all sessions of a class, or that you are okay with missing any that you’ll be away for. You can find out more on our studio policies page.
